Mobile Shelter

The shelter project at MIAD has been ongoing for the last 11 years. It has been primarily an exercise to develop disaster relief shelters with a material limitation (corrugated cardboard, corrugated HDPE plastic, string twine and plastic lm sheeting). ID students designed the structures in teams and then the best concept was voted for and built three times to show nesting and ganging technologies. The shelters were set up in a park where students experienced spending the night in them.
