After going through research, involving internet searches, reading medical journals and interviewing users of the NICU, I attended a day of NICU nurse training. This involved learning about the machines in the NICU and watching several mini lectures.
Once gaining a bit of knowledge from the NICU, I noticed one area that could be reimagined to create a better experience. Holding a baby for the first time in the NICU may not be what new parents expect so making this process easier for those involved.
